A steady humming sound that wasn't present when the oven was newer represents a genuinely different situation, and this is particularly true if you notice the pitch or intensity of the hum changing as the oven heats up during a cooking cycle. This pattern points toward developing bearing wear inside the fan motor itself — the small bearings that allow the motor shaft to spin smoothly begin to wear down gradually over years of continuous operation, and that wear typically manifests first as this kind of steady humming sound before progressing further. This particular symptom tends to develop gradually over a period of weeks or even months, rather than appearing suddenly overnight, which is a useful distinguishing characteristic compared to some other, more sudden appliance failures.
